How to Fix CH Error In LG Air Conditioner?

If your LG air conditioner is showing “CH” on the display, don’t worry—it’s not an error. The CH code is a reminder to clean the air filter, ensuring your AC runs efficiently. Over time, dust and dirt accumulate on the filter, reducing airflow and cooling performance. LG ACs automatically show this alert after a certain number of operating hours to remind you of regular maintenance.

How to Fix the CH (Clean Filter) Alert in LG AC?

  1. Turn Off the AC and unplug it from the power supply.

  2. Open the Front Panel of the indoor unit.

  3. Remove the Air Filters carefully.

  4. Clean the Filters using water or a vacuum cleaner. Let them dry completely.

  5. Reinstall the Filters and close the front panel.

  6. Reset the CH Indicator:

    • Press and hold the Filter Reset button on the remote for 3-5 seconds (if available).

    • Or, turn off the AC from the power source for a few minutes and restart it.

When Should You Clean the Filter?

  • Every 2 weeks in dusty areas.

  • Once a month in normal conditions.

  • More frequently if you use the AC daily.

Conclusion

If your LG AC shows only “CH” (without numbers), it’s a filter cleaning reminder. Just clean the filter and reset the indicator to remove it. However, if you see “CH” with a number (e.g., CH05, CH38), it may indicate an actual error that needs troubleshooting.
