How to Fix E3 Error Code in Gree Inverter AC? | U-Match Series

What is the E3 Error Code in Gree AC?

The E3 error code in Gree Inverter AC indicates a low refrigerant level or low-pressure protection. This can happen due to a refrigerant leak, faulty components, or incorrect system settings. In some cases, the E3 error may appear during the refrigerant recycling mode, but it will disappear once the process is complete.

Causes of the E3 Error in Gree Inverter AC

1. Refrigerant Recycling Mode

  • If the AC is in refrigerant recycling mode, the E3 error does not indicate a fault.
  • The error will disappear automatically once the recycling process is complete.

2. Refrigerant Lacking Protection

  • The system stops working when it detects a low refrigerant level within 10 minutes of operation.
  • If this error occurs three times, the AC will not recover automatically.
  • You can disable this protection mode through the debugging mode using a wired controller if needed.

3. Low-Pressure Switch Issue

  • If the low-pressure switch stops functioning within 30 seconds after the AC is turned ON or in standby mode, the system triggers low-pressure protection.
  • If this fault occurs three times within 30 minutes, the AC unit will require manual intervention for recovery.

How to Fix the E3 Error in Gree AC?

Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the E3 error:

  1. Check the refrigerant level – If it’s low, contact a professional to refill it.
  2. Inspect the Low-Pressure Protection switch – If faulty, replace it.
  3. Ensure the gas and liquid valves are fully open – A partially closed valve can cause low-pressure issues.
  4. Exit refrigerant recycling mode – If the system is in recycling mode, wait for the process to complete.
  5. Use debugging mode – If you want to disable refrigerant lacking protection, enter debugging mode using a wired controller.

  1. (1) How can I determine if LPP switch is faulty?
    (2) How can I check whether if liquid valve and gas valve open completely?
Please note that the both liquid valve and gas valve checks out with correct ohm reading 45ohm plus 2 ohm different with some. So I’m in range.
